WHO AM I?

I decided to take the test that Pam at "This side of Heaven" took and these were my results. I guess I am like Carole Lombard.

Have a good day.

Carole Lombard
You scored 11% grit, 19% wit, 38% flair, and 45% class!
You're a little bit of a fruitcake, but you always act out in style. You have a good sense of humor, are game for almost anything, but you like to have nice things about you and are attracted to the high life. You're stylish and modern, but you've got a few rough edges that keep you from attaining true sophistication. Your leading men include William Powell, Fredric March, and Clark Gable. Watch out for small planes.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

TYLER VALETORT HUMPHREYS

He's a beautiful healthy baby boy. Six pounds six ounces.

Grandma is so excited and anxious to meet him for the first time. The new mommy and daddy are also very excited.

Tyler was born on my daughter Sharleen's birthday. What a great birthday present from God. Children are a gift from God and this child is especially a special gift from God.

The birth mother is doing well after having to have the baby by C Section. All the adoption works are in the process.

Hope you have a Blessed Day.

PICS OF BABY CREATIONS

If you get a chance, go and visit This side of Heaven. (gmapam.blogspot.com) She has posted some pictures of the beautiful quilts she has made. I just love the colours. Her page inspired me to post some pics at my feeble attempts at quilt making.

I started making this into a baby blanket and when I saw all the work involved, it ended up being a baby pillow. You sew all the seams on the outside and then clip each seam to get the rugged look. Comes out nice and soft though.

Same pillow, different view.

This was my first attempt at a scrap quilt for a baby. All sort of flannel pieces sewn helter skelter with ribbons, lace, yo-yo's bows, etc. to add the finishing touches.

Hope you have a crafty day.

ALEXANDER ROSS ASPEN

It's a BOY. Yipeeeee!!!! 7 pounds 14 ounces, 19.5 inches long and the most beautiful baby in the whole world. Mom and baby are both doing fine and daddy is as proud as a peacock. Will post pics tomorrow. Just letting you all know. Thank you thank you thank you for all the prayers. She had an easy time of it.

God Bless my blogging family and make their day special as mine was.

SECOND UPDATE

It's five o'clock in the afternoon and still nothing to report. I went down to the BIG TOWN as I was so excited and couldn't wait. My daughter is doing well. For awhile the contractions were two min. apart then they slowed down a little. Now they are getting back up there again. They gave her something for the pain and now she is walking around letting gravity help. I decided to come home to get something to eat and try to relax a little. Will let you know in a few hours how things went.

Having a very special day. Hope you are as well.

UPDATE

This is an update to my Grandmother status:

My younest daughter Angela is in the hospital. She is having her baby. Her water broke this morning at 3:30. She is four centemeters and the pains are 4 minutes apart. Grandma is so very excited. Will keep you informed. Keep praying everything will go smoothly.

Have a great day - I know I will.

LETTER TO MY INTERNET FRIENDS AND FAMILY

I am finding out that there are many people who read my blogs but never comment on them. Thank you for reading - you know who you are. It doesn’t matter that you don’t comment, as long as I know you are reading. It is nice to keep in touch with everyone this way. I’m so glad you think of me enough to read my ‘boring’ life stories and share in my life in that way. I never feel alone just knowing there are people out there who read me and are a part of my life. Thank you.

Isn’t the internet great for that. It is our window on the world. You never feel quite alone when you have the internet. People are just a click away. I am finding out there are such loving giving people out there. People I don’t even know have commented and prayed for me. That is awesome. Gives us a little taste of what heaven will be like. Total strangers are our brothers and sisters. It is amazing to think about.

We don’t even know the miracles that have happened in our lives due to complete strangers. Sometimes God will let us in on some of it but a lot of times we have no idea. Someone just decided to pray for us and Voila, our life was saved from some weird car accident or something. We will never know on this side of heaven.

Prayer is a marvelous, wonderous thing. We don’t even know what our prayers can do. We can be a mighty army if we could just tap into our prayers and realize the great potential praying for others does.

I got a glimpse of the power of prayer after my husband died. People from all over the world were praying for me and I could sense God’s presence with me daily. He turned my mourning into joy and replaced the mourning with a love for others. It was past my understanding and so totally awesome. I just can’t find the words to describe this beautiful wonderful gift these people gave to me.

Not only that, but I found out I had people out there that really cared about me. Brothers and sisters from different countries that were feeling my pain with me and sharing their hearts with me. What a glorious gift to be in the family of God.

I have been sharing with you my joys and my sorrows. You stand by me when the going gets tough and you rejoice with me when things are great. Thank you so much for being a part of my life.

Soon I will be sharing the joys of being a grandmother. Something I have longed for for many years. Now I will experience it on the double. I can hardly wait to be able to share those precious little ones with you. You will probably get so sick of hearing about them. For sure you will get to see pictures, pictures and more pictures. Who else can I share them with if not my internet family and friends.

Please feel free to comment or write me any time you like. I look forward to hearing from you.

To everyone reading this - I LOVE YOU. Thank you for being a part of my life.

Have a terrific prayerful day.

LETTER FROM HEAVEN

I was visiting a sight and came across this poem. It really hit me and I felt like it was a letter to me from my husband. In it he gives me permission to cry and cry I did. I just wanted to share it with you my blog friends and family.

My dearest one, I’m sending, this letter from above,
I know right now you’re missing me; I can feel your love.
You think about my birthday, and the day I had to leave.
But always remember this; I don’t wish for you to grieve.

When I wrote my first letter, from Heaven on that day,
I wanted you to understand, that I was doing okay.
I knew the hurt of loosing me, would take time for you to heal,
And even though it’s been awhile, to you, it seems unreal.

But darling, here in Heaven, with Jesus by my side,
The Golden Gate will open, when you come here to reside.
I know it’s difficult for you, to understand your pain,
But once you arrive in Heaven, it all will be explained.

It’s okay for you to cry, just let the tears give way,
Then tilt your head and look above, you’ll feel my touch today.
Just keep your faith, believe my words; you’ll see the morning light.
God and I are with you, every morning, noon and night.

THE BIG TOWN

I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! I took a few weeks to psych myself up and then I took the plunge. I drove to THE BIG TOWN and back - ALL BY MYSELF. I was so proud of myself. I prayed lots before going and while on the way. When I got there, I paused in the car and said out loud "I can't believe I did it, Thank you Lord". I even drove 100 on the highway and I wasn't too nervous. Yipee! I've got wings, I can fly. This little birdie has left the nest.

I didn't drive in the big town as I am not used to a lot of traffic yet but I went shopping on the large department stores just outside of town. One of these days I may even try going to THE BIG CITY and back. That will take a whole lot of psyching up to do and loads and loads of prayers as that is about 50 kilometres away. Soon winter will be here and this little birdie is going to hibernate I think.

On my BIG shopping trip I spent a little fortune. I got a fold up wooden table I wanted. It has 4 fold up chairs that hide inside and the whole thing folds up to a small table that can fit against a wall. I am going to be using it for an island and then if I get company, I will open it up to a bigger table. The price tag on it was $269.00 and when I went to the check out they said they had just lowered the price that day, so it was only $199.00. Yipee! What a deal. Then I got two shorage units (for shoes, but I will use for crafts) a fold up table for my craft room and some storage baskets for my shelves.

I left one store and went across the street to another big store. There I found a patio set on sale (In store deal) for $149.99 It is a round glass table with umbrella, 4 metal chairs with padded cushions. All really pretty. I also bought a 3 seater swing for $129.00. I've always wanted a nice set like this and could never afford it.

For the past few days I have been enjoying my new purchases. I sit out on the swing and read and swing. I am going to be known as a swinger of a grandmother.
Soon the little grandkids will be arriving and I am so very excited about it. Can hardly wait.

Please say a prayer that both grandkids will be strong and healthy and there will be no complications with any of the mothers giving birth. I thank you in advance.

Must get busy and clean my house before the arrival of the little ones.

Hope you have a freeing day.
