HOME MINISTRY PRAYER AND WARRIORS NEEDED
This is an article published in the current issue of Christian Women Online. Please read and prayerfully contemplate becoming a part of this great endevour.
Opening the Bible to Exodus chapter seventeen, we find a battle going on--Amelek came to fight Isreal in Rephidim.
"And Moses said unto Joshua, 'Choose out men, and go out, fight with Amelek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.'(v. 9)
And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Isreal prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amelek prevailed." (v.11)
Opening our eyes to the spiritual world around us, we find a battle going on--Satan is working to destroy that which the church is trying to build.
We see children in pain over broken marriage, we see parents crying for the health of their children, and we see families broken hearted over those that are lost in sin.
I'm going to the top of the hill to stretch out my hand to our God almighty who is able to heal, able to comfort, and able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Will you join me?
When a mother is worried sick for her child in hospital at 2 in the morning, I want her to know that we're here to share in her burden. When another is worried for the health of her husband, we're here. When a man is broken under the pressure of the world, let's bring him before God in prayer.
CWO is starting this hike up the mountain by working on a few things. Helping out in any of these ways would be a blessing to us:
First, I'm asking that anyone who is interested in a ministry of prayer write me. I'll be gathering a team together that will be emailed as the prayers come in. When we have a team established and growing, I would like to publish the first names only along with their locations, so that people will see the many voices around the world stretching their hands to our Lord. I remember a time when my baby was deathly ill, but I found comfort in knowing that churches around the world were in prayer.
Secondly we have opened a new page for prayer, The Prayer Room. We will post prayers that come to us, or needs that we see on the net, and ask that those who wish to comment leave prayers and encouragement for them.
Thirdly, we're providing buttons (below), should you wish to use them. One is an invitation to the prayer page, and the other is an invitation to the prayer team.
I read on through Exodus, "But Moses' hands were heavy, and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon, and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side, and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun." (v.)12
Will you join me in holding up our sisters in Christ? Together as one, may we stand firm, until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
